The Public Garden adjacent to Xarolla Windmill provides a serene environment where both tourists and locals can relax in peace. Constructed in 1724 by Grandmaster Manoel de Vilhena, the Xarolla Windmill had a second floor added in 1791 to accommodate the miller’s family. After being restored to its original operational state in 1992, it now stands as the only working windmill in Malta and Gozo. This windmill is a significant emblem of local culture and heritage, still containing some of its original mechanisms and retaining the ability to grind wheat.
