Ġnien Zaylen

Ġnien Zaylen is a 5,000 square metre inclusive garden located in the outdoor area at Aġenzija Sapport in Paola, developed by Project Green in memory of a child who tragically passed away. As part of Malta’s National Autism Strategy 2021 – 2030, the garden is designed to promote inclusion, environmental awareness, and community connection. It features therapeutic and sensory elements such as interactive playground equipment for all abilities, raised planter beds for accessible gardening, planter benches for sensory grounding, and quiet zones for emotional regulation. Sensory pathways enriched with aromatic plants and natural textures enhance the calming experience. Recreational facilities include an accessible Bocci pitch that encourages inclusive sport and skill-building, while the upgraded basketball court fosters social interaction between service users and the wider community.
