Ġnien il-Larinġ

Ġnien il-Larinġ transformed a 750m2 site in Ħal Lija that was once earmarked for development into a vibrant community garden, now within a 10-minute walk of around 1,264 residents. Project Green removed 15 tonnes of waste, introduced accessible pathways, built a loggia with sanitary facilities, and created new seating areas, turning an inaccessible site into a welcoming public space. Inspired by Ħal Lija’s strong community spirit and rich citrus heritage, the garden features 25 newly planted trees alongside existing citrus trees, as well as 900 plants and shrubs, including lavender, rosemary, sage, and thyme, creating a colourful, fragrant environment for relaxation and social interaction.
